Preliminary Task- Research
Our film would be put in the mystery genre, so we looked into Sherlock to get some ideas. Such as when he is on his phone instead of the camera showing the phone, the text comes up at the side so the audience can see what is being done, because at the beginning of your clip that is what happens we decided to do the same with our actor Steph and put the text in when we was editting.

Preliminary Task - Filming
The filming process went really well when it came to filming. But when filming there was some problems such as;
- one of the tripods was broken
- cleaners
- teachers
The biggest problem was the noise in the background, because of this we decided to do most of the scene in the room where we could shut the door to drown out the sound. Then we filmed the scene outside the classrooms once the cleaners had finished which helped us get the effect of it being in a school during school time.
Me and Luke was both happy with the filming and done it in less time than we thought, which was a bonus.
When it came to filming we changed our roles that we thought we would do, Luke was the camera man and i was the director this worked out really well as we was both hands on with everything we did and making sure the actor knew what they was doing and what each of us was doing to get all the filming done in time and to the quality that we wanted.
Preliminary Task - Camera Skills
“What are the benefits of using a tripod and shooting multi-camera?”
The benefits for using a tripod is that it makes the camera more steady, this is useful because it makes the camera shots better when the camera is still. Also when moving the camera when it is on a tripod the movement is more still and makes it more affective. Also if people dont use a tripod and they want to make the shot still, it makes the camera make look like he isnt very good at using the camera.
The benefits for shooting multi-camera is that it is easier to film as it makes filming quicker when using to camera as you can set up for the next shoot and move straight on to it after. Also you can get the same shot from different angles so there for it can make it more affective when editting it together you hvae different angles for one shot. Also using more than one camera you save time not moving one camera around so there is a another ope ready for you to use, after the shot you have just filmed.
The 180 degree rule is sopmething that should be used when filming, some times this is broken when making big films but should always be used and never broken in a premliminary task like which we are doing now.

Preliminary Task - Team work
My team is me and Luke Ayres, we have spilt what has been need to do in half so we both put in an equal amount of work.
We have both done the script together and we are both directiors and producers.
I am the camera man in the production, and also i have done the shot list and story board.
Luke is the edittor for the post-production and he has done the production schedule and the risk assesment.
We have been late in our filming due to illness on mt behalf so this has made it harder for us to be able to edit as it gives us less time on the post-production beside this i believe we have worked well together as a team, we have talked through it all and have been putting both our ideas together and making sure the other one is happy with what we are doing.

Preliminary-Recce
Location 1: G4 (Geography Block)
This is our main choice for location to film, we have asked for permission from Mr Sedgwick and he has granted it.
Location 2 – L4 (Languages block)
This is our second choice location, it is not as ideal as the first one, but it is our current back up room to film.
